Discord Channel API for Developers
Publish messages with images and videos to Discord channels from one REST API or MCP server. Users pick the channel in Discord; Ampost posts through its webhook.
Pick the Channel in Discord
Users connect through Discord's own consent screen, where they choose the server and channel. Ampost receives a webhook for that channel.
No Bot to Host
Posting goes through the channel webhook, so there is no bot user, gateway connection or bot verification to deal with.
Attachments
Send up to 10 images or videos per message, uploaded as Discord attachments, plus text up to 2000 characters.
Safe Mentions
Messages never ping @everyone, roles or users, whatever the text contains, so automated posts cannot spam a server.
Clean Disconnect
Disconnecting in Ampost deletes the webhook in Discord, so no access is left behind.
Same Model as Every Platform
Post release notes to Discord, Telegram, X and LinkedIn with one request and schedule them for later.
Why this page exists
Discord posting without running a bot
Most products only need to post into a channel, yet a Discord bot brings a gateway connection, permissions and verification once it joins many servers.
Ampost connects with Discord's incoming-webhook flow instead: the server admin picks the channel, and your product publishes with the same request it sends to every other platform.
Use cases
Release notes and changelogs
Post each release to your community's announcements channel at the same time as your social accounts.
AI agents in community servers
Let an agent publish summaries or updates to a Discord channel through MCP, without running a bot.
Products serving communities
Let your users connect their own Discord channel in a few clicks and publish from your product.
Publish to Discord in one API call
Connect a channel once, then send messages with attachments from your backend, workflow tool or agent.

What developers should know before integrating
One connection posts to one channel. Connect another channel in another platform set to post there too.
Attachments are limited to 10 MB each, Discord's limit for servers without boosts.
Messages post as the webhook. Polls, threads and forum posts are not supported yet.
The person connecting needs the Manage Webhooks permission on the server.
Build path
Move from Discord proof of concept to production
Connect a test channel, send a first message with an image, and open the link from platformPosts[].publishedUrl.
If a server admin deletes the webhook, posts fail with an auth error; reconnecting creates a new one.
FAQ
Common questions about Discord API integration
Do I need to create a Discord bot to post through Ampost?
No. Ampost uses a channel webhook created on Discord's consent screen. There is no bot to invite, host or verify.
Which channel do posts go to?
The one picked on Discord's consent screen when the account was connected. Ampost shows the server name and channel id on the connected account.
Can I schedule Discord messages?
Yes. Send a future `scheduledFor`; Ampost stores the attachments and posts the message at that time.
